This app is suitable for children aged 2-4,5 years old.
It is an educational process which promotes correct speech through fun.

At this age, children especially the active and boisterous ones, find it challenging to sit through a long story.

Parents (and teachers) will often try and read a story, but the children lose interest quickly or interrupt, with irrelevant questions .

In this edition, stories are told using interesting images and one-sentence captions.

The audio and visual stimuli are matched and the storyline is simple and succinct. Every word chosen has a clear meaning and the frequent repetition ensures learning and later facilitates retelling the story.

The words that have been chosen are simple in meaning but are also easy to pronounce.
The images are simple and in consecutive order guiding the child through the story from beginning to end in small steps, thus helping children learn how to" tell a story".

The number of illustrations - sentences is small, helping the flow of the story.

The story is told in a steady rhythm, in a clear, resonating voice.
What this app aims to achieve:

a) To get children to sit through a whole story.

b) To encourage children to retell the story only by looking at the images.

c) Once children have learnt the storyline, to be able to retell their own enriched version of the story.

d) Older children (First Year) to practice their reading skills by reading the simple sentences and create their own written or oral versions of the story.

e) These books help parents learn hot to communicate information to their children simply and using logical succession (time, cause, intention).

Eventhough these books were originally intended for a young audience, they are suitable for use as an aid for children with learning disabilities, needing assistance with speech development. These books will be useful for older children with learning difficulties who need help with their storytelling skills.

The illustrations are exquisite and educational. This is an innovative approach to storytelling, transcending from the traditional paper book to a more contemporary app for smartphones and tablets. Children spend more and more time on these devices, we might as well embrace this change.
